The Turbulence Training Program by Men’s Health contributor Craig Ballantyne is the workout program for people who don’t want to spend all their time in the gym but still want to see fast fat loss results.  Craig is always coming up with new workouts and provides his clients with up-to-date information about what’s going on in the fat loss world, making this a very good online program option to choose from.

What Set’s The Turbulence Training Program Apart

One of the things I liked best about Craig’s program was the fact that it contains a number of unique exercises so boredom doesn’t become an issue.  Craig specializes in bodyweight circuit workouts, which I feel makes this a really good option for those of you who are looking for fast fat loss, but don’t want to invest in expensive gym memberships, expensive exercise equipment, or simply prefer home workouts.  This isn’t to say you can’t do his workouts in the gym if you prefer – you certainly can, just that going to a gym on a daily basis isn’t necessary with this program.

I think he does a really good job at putting the workouts together so there is enough variety that you won’t plateau as you progress.  Since this is a big issue that many fat loss workout programs face (stalled results), the Turbulence Training program addresses this effectively.

Another thing I feel sets this program apart is the members content on Craig’s site.  Regardless of when you sign up, you’ll always have access to a seemingly endless volume of information so if you’re eager to learn more about fitness and nutrition, this is a good source.

Finally, the last awesome part about this program – one thing I really liked, is that Craig does not advocate long cardio sessions at all. In fact, for the most part you won’t even touch a cardio machine or do traditional cardio methods on this program.  I personally think that cardio tends to be far overrated in terms of fat loss success, so to see a program virtually eliminate this while helping so many individuals see results is fantastic.  It’s about time people discovered they don’t have to do hours of cardio to lose weight.

Downsides To Turbulence Training

While I do feel there are a number of positives to this program, as with everything in life, there are going to be some drawbacks.  The big issue I could see is that since you’re performing the workouts strictly with your bodyweight, dumbbells, or resistance balls, you likely wouldn’t be lifting as much sheer weight as if you were say doing squats, bench press, rows, etc in the gym.  While this certainly isn’t necessary for fat loss to take place, those who are looking to get really, really strong may not obtain that goal while using this plan. 

On the other hand though, this program is perfect if you’re looking to develop speed, quickness, enhanced agility, muscular endurance and some degree of strength – so for a well-rounded fitness level, it can’t be beat.  It’s just that sheer, super-strong strength where you might want to include a few sets of heavy lifts as well (nothing is to say you can’t do that in combination with the workouts in this program).
