Advantages Of Bodyweight Exercises For Fat Loss

For many people, getting to the gym on a regular basis to do a fat loss workout program is just not going to happen.  They may not have any gyms located close to their houses, may not be able to afford a gym membership, or perhaps just don’t feel comfortable with the gym atmosphere.  Whatever the case, it stops them from going and often they feel that they will not be able to get fat loss results because of it.

This is not the case though – at all.  Bodyweight exercises can be very effective for fat loss for a number of reasons.  Here’s why.

Increased Metabolic Rate

The first benefit you’ll receive from doing bodyweight exercises is an increased metabolic rate.  When you’re performing the right types of exercises in a quick-paced nature, it will do a great deal to help increase your metabolism, helping you see significant fat loss results.

While weights require you to rest after a certain period of time if you’re lifting heavy, with bodyweight exercises you can easily complete an entire circuit with little or no rest.

This also makes them great for those who are looking for a time effective workout – basically you can work the whole body in as little as 20 minutes a few times  a week.

Extremely Cost Effective

The second reason bodyweight exercises are great for fat loss is because they are very cost effective – in fact, basically they’re free.  As long as you’ve got a good pair of running shoes and an open area, you’re good to go.

If you’re trying to lose weight on a budget, definitely give bodyweight exercises some consideration.

Better Core Conditioning

The third advantage to bodyweight exercises is that they will provide good core conditioning.  When you’re doing a bodyweight workout program, you’re not going to be required to spend a great deal of time doing crunches or other ab work since the abs will be worked with each exercise you do.

For those who suffer from chronic back pain, bodyweight conditioning is extremely effective (plus it won’t put the stress on the body like heavy weight lifting will).

No Need For Cardio Training

Finally, the last big benefit you’ll get with bodyweight exercises is the reduced need for cardio. If you’re doing them in a circuit style fashion, you’ll be revving your metabolic rate and reducing the need for any type of cardio workouts.  If you hate cardio, consider this type of training.

Most people find it much less boring than traditional cardio, yet you get better results.  Definitely a good trade-off.

So, if you don’t want to do regular weight training or are just tired of your old workout program, consider some bodyweight workouts to speed up your fat loss and boost your fitness level.  If you follow the right program, they can be extremely effective.

For some workouts to get you going, I’d recommend looking at the Turbulence Training Program.  It’s easy to understand, follow, and offers enough variety that you’re body will keep responding and getting results.
